Amanda Tucker was trained by the south's premier Irish dance school, the Drake School of Irish Dance. She competed for nine years with much success--placing in the top 5 in the solo dance category at the Southern US Championships (Oireachtas) for four years, and qualifying for the World Championships five times. From 2002-2005 her team won 1st place at the Southern Region Championships. She competed at the World Championships in Ireland twice, and in 2005 placed 25th at the North American Irish Dance Championships. Amanda performed in Eire: The Show in Branson, Missouri in 2004. She toured North America with the show The Magic of Ireland in 2007. Throughout her eleven years of dancing, she also had the honor of sharing a stage with greats such as The Chieftains, Cherish the Ladies, and Eileen Ivers. Since 2006, she has taught for the Drake School of Irish Dance in Alabama, producing National and World Championship qualifiers. She is currently studying for her TCRG.
