This is a free event. Do I need to register to take classes?

Registration is required to take classes. Online registration is strongly recommended in order to get your preferred classes. Online registration will be available until the Thursday before the Saturday event. Onsite registration begins at 9:00 am on Saturday morning prior to the first set of classes at 10:00 am.

How do I access online registration?

There are two ways to access online registration.

  1. If you previously participated in Dance Across Birmingham, you will receive an Invitation to register for Dance Across Birmingham. Click “yes” to access the event registration website.
  2. You can access online registration soon by clicking here.

I registered for DAB in the past. Why didn’t I receive an email invitation?

There could be several reasons. Your email address may have changed or was not typed correctly; the invitation could be in your spam folder; you may have opted out of receiving emails from the Alabama Dance Council; or you may have been registered by someone else as a “Guest” and they did not enter an email address for you. In order to receive DAB event emails, please enter your email correctly and make sure that is in your approved sender list.

How do I register a group?

The group leader should register first in order to have control of the group’s registration. The system will not allow more than one person to register with the same email address. Use the “Add Person” button to register a group with individual email addresses. The group leader must select each person’s classes before registering the next person.

If you need to register additional family members that use a common email address or have group members who do not have an email address, please register them as your “Guest” after you have registered yourself. NOTE: Registration will be tied to the group leader. Your “Guest” will not receive any communication about this event except through you. Only you can modify or cancel their registration. If you cancel your registration, it cancels the registrations of all of your guests.

How many classes can I take?

You may take up to four classes. There are four classes to select from at each class session time, and there are four class session times: 10:00 am, 11:15 am, 2:45 pm, 4:00 pm. Each class is one hour.

What if a class is full when I register?

If a class is full, select another class that meets at the same time. During onsite registration, you may be able to swap class tickets as space opens up due to cancellations or no shows.

What if I need to cancel or modify my registration?

Access your registration from your confirmation email. Click on “Already Registered” and enter your email and confirmation number. If you don’t have the confirmation number, click on the link to have it sent to you.

Do I have to make a donation?

Dance Across Birmingham is a free event. However, this event would not happen without generous contributions from people like you combined with modest grant support we receive. A $5 donation per person is requested but not required.

Are tickets required for the Birmingham Dance Showcase?

No, and you do not have to register to attend the performance. Invite all your family and friends! The performance is 12:45– 2:30 pm in the BJCC Mainstage Theater.

What are my options for lunch?

No outside food is permitted in the BJCC. The concession stand will be open in the BJCC Theater Lobby to purchase food and drinks. Food is permitted in the theater during the performance.
