Help us map the movement across Alabama.

The Alabama Dance Census is a statewide effort to identify and connect the people, places, and practices that make up the rich and diverse dance community across our state. Whether you are a dancer, educator, choreographer, studio owner, arts administrator, student, or someone who simply supports dance — we want to hear from you.

By participating in the Dance Census, you’ll help us:

  • Build a clearer picture of who is making, teaching, and supporting dance in Alabama
  • Identify gaps and opportunities in dance access, funding, and resources
  • Strengthen our collective voice to advocate for dance
  • Shape future programs and services that reflect the needs of the entire community

This project is led by the Alabama Dance Council with support from a statewide Advisory Task Force, guided by principles of equity, accessibility, and community voice.

The Dance Census launched in January 2026.

Together, let’s make sure every body and every story is counted.
