January 17 – 26, 2020
The Alabama Dance Festival is one of the largest gatherings of dancers and dance enthusiasts in the Southeast. Immerse yourself in master classes with world-renowned teachers, audition opportunities, teacher training, networking, and performances by regional dance groups and this year’s guest company, Wideman Davis Dance.
The Alabama Dance Festival and Klein Arts & Culture are proud to co-present Wideman Davis Dance performing Migratuse Ataraxia, a site-specific work at the Klein-Wallace House in Harpersville, AL. Request to be added to the invitation list for tickets.
Each year, the Alabama Dance Festival boasts a weekend full of performances. Participants and public alike enjoy work presented in a range of styles and traditions by schools, studios, companies, and choreographers in our annual New Works Concert and Alabama Dance Festival Showcase. Furthermore, a selected Guest Company of national significance treats us to something new and inspiring each year.
The Alabama Dance Festival offers a diverse range of master classes and workshops from a faculty of renown instructors carefully selected. Classes vary across styles and cultural traditions for pre-professional dancers (grades 6-12), college/professional dancers, and pedagogy and professional development workshops.
The Alabama Dance Festival offers valuable audition opportunities for dance students. Dancers may register to audition for local, regional, and national summer programs, college programs, and scholarships.
The Alabama Dance Festival includes a day-long arts integration workshop for which K12 educators can receive Continuing Education credit. Resource materials and Festival residency activities give educators additional tools to discuss art with their students.
